Egg Drop Challenge- Iteration 1

Today in class we have started the Annual Egg Drop Challenge! So far we have completed 22 Achievements

Brainstorm
Cup in which the egg will go into
Egg holder without the balloons

Calculations

- We figured that our contraption with the egg was 55.8 grams, and the egg alone was 47.2 grams. Subtracting the two would equal 8.6 grams. So the contraption alone weighed 8.6 grams.

Activity 2.1.6

I have successfully completed 6/6 activities from Activity 2.1.6. It was quite enjoyable once I got on a roll with all the tools.

Khan Academy

Provide "sustain" (positive) and "change" feedback regarding your experience with using the video to supplement your learning.
- I really enjoyed this video because it was exactly what we are learning in Chemistry. I needed some extra simplification of the topic and it actually helped me. The only thing I would change would be to make the person speaking, to talk a little bit smoother. His speech was a bit choppy.

"Sustain" - what works well for you with the video you chose? Would "flipping the classroom" work out?
- This video worked well for me. I think with all the different colors he used to do notes, it kept my brain awake and alert. I know that is a simple explanation, but i really believe it kept me into the subject. Flippin the classroom would work out.

"Change" - Is there anything you would change regarding the video or the concept of "flipping the classroom".
- The only other thing I would change is to paste actual pictures of the topic. I was learning about suspension of a mixture, for example, post a picture of chocoloate milk in a suspened state (particles of chocolate sinking to the bottom of the glass).

Should education institutions work towards this new paradigm?
I believe that education should be working towar flipping the classroom. It is very differnt, but great idea.

Activity 2.1.5 CAD Software

Conclusion
1.    What 3-D CAD functions could be used to create a wire coat hanger?

I believe a good CAD Function to make a Wire coat hanger could be the Sweep function.

2.    What feature would be used to create a 3-D representation of a spindle that was created on a wood lathe? I would use the threaded function relating to the spindle.

3.    How does a 3-D CAD solid model program keep track of the changes that are made to an object?  On the left side of your project there is a bar that keeps track of every move you have made to your project.

4.    If a mistake is made, how does the user make a correction without using the undo function?
I usually use control Z to make a correction to my work. Or I look at the left side of my project were there is a bar that shows all the changes I have made to my project. I can delete steps there if i wanted to.
